Cambridge International
The goal of assessments is to ensure that educational integrity is at the heart of the process, with tests and qualifications holding value only when they accurately reflect an individual’s knowledge and understanding and inform the learning journey. The aim is to ensure that all learners access the benefits of their education through fair and accurate assessments of their skills, knowledge, and understanding. Ultimately, the objective is to unlock the power of education for every student, helping them become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative, and engaged individuals.
The Cambridge International curriculum is a globally recognized education framework, offered in over 10,000 schools across 160 countries, and valued by universities and employers worldwide. With a structured curriculum that emphasizes academic rigor, Cambridge enables students to enhance their skills and knowledge as they progress through different stages of education.
At Arbor International School, we offer the Cambridge Pre-Primary and Cambridge Primary curriculum, providing a solid foundation for students in their early academic years. These stages focus on developing essential skills in a child-friendly, engaging environment, encouraging them to become passionate, lifelong learners.
Pre-Primary (Nursery to Kindergarten)
In the Pre-Primary years, our focus is on creating a joyful, stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore and develop essential skills for future learning. Through play-based learning and structured activities, we lay the foundation for the academic and social skills that will support their progress through later years. Key areas of development include:
Language Development: Building communication skills through storytelling, songs, and discussions.
Numeracy Skills: Introduction to basic mathematical concepts through hands-on activities.
Fine and Gross Motor Skills: Activities to enhance physical coordination, such as drawing, building, and simple sports.
Social and Emotional Growth: Encouraging teamwork, empathy, and self-awareness.
The Pre-Primary curriculum emphasizes the development of the whole child, nurturing both cognitive and emotional growth in a positive, playful environment.
Cambridge Primary (Grades 1-5)
As students progress into Cambridge Primary (Grades 1-5), the curriculum builds on the foundation established in Pre-Primary, providing a comprehensive education that covers a broad range of subjects and skills. The Cambridge Primary curriculum focuses on academic excellence and fosters creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
Core subjects include:
English (Reading, Writing, and Speaking)
Mathematics (Problem-solving, Reasoning, and Calculations)
Science (Basic concepts of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology)
In addition to these core subjects, students explore:
Second and Foreign Languages (Hindi, French, or Spanish)
Global Perspectives
Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Visual and Performing Arts
Physical Education
Life Skills
The curriculum also places a strong emphasis on developing important skills such as communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, laying the groundwork for future academic success.
At the end of Grade 5, students take the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Examination, which assesses their knowledge in English, Mathematics, and Science. The results offer diagnostic feedback to students, parents, and teachers, helping guide future learning.
Term-End Assessments:
Term 1: Unit Test 1 and Term 1 Exam
Term 2: Unit Test 2 and Term 2 Exam
